About Me
I’m Arthur Pimenta, a photographer based in the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I use photography as a way to expand my creativity and keep alive my desire to create art. My connection with visual storytelling comes from my own experiences and from growing up surrounded by the streets, culture, and energy of Rio de Janeiro.
Today, I develop projects alongside friends and people I’ve met through events and movements related to music, art, fashion, and the broader urban and creative scene. It is within this environment of exchange and collaboration that I find much of my inspiration and many of the stories I seek to capture.
Although my work is currently focused on photography, my goal is to expand into the audiovisual field, exploring video production and, in the future, working as a videomaker. I’m constantly learning through online courses, digital content, and by following the work of other creators. Still, I believe that my greatest source of knowledge is life itself. For me, walking through my neighborhood, observing people, places, and everyday moments, can be just as valuable as hours spent studying theory.
I strive to maintain the freedom to create from my own perspective while also valuing the ideas and experiences of the people involved in my projects. I believe that authenticity is essential, and that identity is what makes us different and unique. These principles guide the way I approach photography and the audiovisual world, helping me build a visual language that is truly my own.
